Newsflash: Bonnie (Kat Graham) is kind of awesome in this sneak peek for this week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries. Seriously. We’re digging her snark as she finally confesses to someone — Caroline (Candice Accola) — that she will not survive the collapse of the Other Side. Check out E! Online’s clip from Season 5, Episode 21 (“Promised Land”).

Caroline is not ready to give up on Tyler (Michael Trevino), who last week was permanently booted out of his Traveler-possessed body: “So, Julian is trapped inside of Tyler forever?” Caroline confirms with Bonnie, who is busy packing up their dorm room. (Does anyone else get the impression that she is the only one who even pretends to go to college?) “Or until he dies? So, I was thinking, what if he does die? Maybe that’s how we do it. That’s how we get him out.”

“You want to kill Tyler?” Bonnie asks, incredulously (and awesomely).

Caroline has it all worked out: “He’ll go to the Other Side and then, when Liv does the spell to help you and Enzo, Tyler can come back. And, speaking of, shouldn’t you be like preparing or talking to Liv or doing anything other than packing up our dorm room?”

Bonnie explains that they need to be out of the room right after finals, which she is considering skipping due to the imminent collapse of the supernatural purgatory she is tied to — hopefully her professors will understand. Caroline thinks they have bigger things to worry about than late housing fees, a comment that finally makes Bonnie crack: “There is no spell. I made it up. The Other Side is collapsing and everyone in it, including me, is going away for good. So, no, I don’t think you should kill Tyler.”

Caroline is beyond shocked and, unprecedentedly, speechless, but Bonnie just continues about her business, carrying a box out of the room. Um, we kind of love Bad New Bears Bonnie. It would figure that, just when Bonnie starts to get funny, her death seems imminent.

Did you find Bonnie as awesome in this scene as we did? Will Caroline figure out a way to save Bonnie and/or Tyler? Sound off in the comments below!
