The Vampire Diaries may not have given us any Season 6 footage at Comic-Con, but we can’t stay cross with them for long because the cast and crew did give us this hilarious behind-the-scenes video featuring Ian Somerhalder (Damon) and Kat Graham’s (Bonnie) reactions to being seemingly written off the show. (Spoiler: They’ll be back.) This mockumentary short proves just how funny this cast can be!

The video starts with the final scene from the Season 5 finale, showing Damon and Bonnie enveloped by a white light and seemingly blinked out of existence. But, instead of discovering what happens next for these TVD heroes, we get actors Ian and Kat on the TVD set, trying to determine if they’ve been written off the show for good.

“I’ve been killed off a TV show before and this is not how they do it,” Ian tells Kat in a hilarious nod to his death on Lost. “This is Vampire Diaries. They’ll just bring us back.” Sound logical.

Kat’s not so sure: “They didn’t just write us off they completely blinked us out of existence. This feels kind of final.”

What follows is a hilarious bit showing the co-stars trying to figure out what they did to get written off (Ian thinks it’s because Kat stole Candice Accola’s special sandwich), and going through their friends and co-stars to find someone who will protest their departure. “Paul [Wesley] loves me,” Ian reasons, “and it would kill him if I was off this show. He would never let that happen.

Paul’s response to the news: “Does this mean that I get more money?” For her part, Nina Dobrev is already making plans to knock down Ian’s dressing room wall to expand her own, Michael Trevino thinks Tyler and Elena should get together in Season 6, and Zach Roerig is planning on using Ian’s “Choice TV Hottie” Teen Choice Award to surf.

Kat and Ian eventually determine that the fans are the only ones who can save them: “We love you guys. We’re counting on you,” Ian tells the fans.

Kat adds: “Yeah, bring us home. You’re our only hope.” The co-stars encourage the fans to “make some noise” via the following hashtags: “#SaveBamon,” “#IanMarryMe,” and “#KatGrahamIsMyQueen.” We’ll see what we can do, guys…
