Fans of The Vampire Diaries are thrilled to be getting double the excitement next fall with the spin-off, The Originals, coming to The CW. Yet those who want to see Caroline (Candice Accola) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) get together worry what the hybrid’s absence will mean for the not-quite-couple.

Wetpaint Entertainment recently spoke with Candice Accola about the possibility of crossovers between the shows. While she says there are no firm plans yet, she thinks it’d be fun to visit the New Orleans contingent from time to time.

Wetpaint Entertainment: Klaus is going to New Orleans. Do you see yourself making regular visits to The Originals? Has there been any talk about crossing over?
Candice Accola: Not at this point. There isn't any crossover talks right now. I mean, I think it would be an absolute blast just because it's a great group of people to work with. The storyline — that's really up to the writers where they see everything going. Honestly, I feel like we usually get kind of a breakdown of what's going in the following season, and this year, for Caroline in particular there’s always, “Well, there's a potential for door A, door B, or door C.” Where the first couple seasons, I kind of got an understanding of exactly what was going to happen. I know that it would be very fun to go to The Originals and pop over and say, “hello.” A little à la Private Practice kind of creeping over into Grey's Anatomy, if that's possible, but there's no direct plans right now.

Do both The Originals and TVD shoot in Atlanta now?
Yes. They will both shoot in Atlanta. The pilot for Originals was in New Orleans, but the series will shoot in Atlanta. They took over some stages they just used over there.

So you're not really saying goodbye to people. You're just saying see you at lunch.
Claire [Holt] and I can still go take spin classes together, thank God. That was going to be the tragedy out of The Originals.

What are your summer plans? What are you doing?
My summer plans, I'm just traveling and relaxing and going to be around people that I love, and then we're back in two months.
