Everything about Fifty Shades of Grey and Ian Somerhalder is very interesting to us — and adding Nina Dobrev to the party? Oh man. Could The Vampire Diaries fans even handle the hotness?
As you probably know, Hollywood is salivating over E.L. James's Fifty Shades series and Ian's name has come up many times (sometimes when he's brought it up himself) for the lead role of Christian Grey. Granted, just about every young actor in Hollywood has been mentioned for Christian or Ana, but Ian's fans are adamant that he should play the kinky role.
Apparently the issue came up again at Comic-Con, where Mr. Smolderhotter and company discussed The Vampire Diaries. Ian and Nina are partners on and off-screen and he was asked about the rumor that producers want both TVD stars for the Fifty Shades of Grey film.
"I can't imagine Universal doing that," the dubious Ian said, "but that would be very interesting."
Nina does not seem to be a fan of the idea. Back in May she told MTV, "I think it’s best for any of the actors on The Vampire Diaries to kind of do their own things and create new characters." Otherwise, “fans will… see me as Elena and they’ll see him as Damon if we do a film together.”
Do you agree? Keep them apart? Cast them together? Should they both avoid Fifty Shades entirely? Where do you stand on this?
