Damon may have scoffed when Klaus (Joseph Morgan) suggested Elena (Nina Dobrev) should end up with Matt (Zach Roerig) in Vampire Diaries Season 3, Episode 13, “Bringing out the Dead,” but Ian Somerhaldermight not think it’s such a crazy idea. In a recent interview with Ology, Ian said he just doesn’t think the doppelganger should end up with either Salvatore.

When Ology proposed just that scenario, Ian said, “Oh, I could totally see that. I mean, I think that the best thing for her would be to not end up with a Salvatore. But it’ll be tough. I have no idea. I mean, I think she’d be crazy to be with one of them. But love is weird, and love is odd. People always talk about this Damon and Elena relationship, and I just can’t see that happening. I mean, he is pretty enticing, and suave, and he’s charming. But he’s a dick. He really is.”

There seems to be some sort of “Elena should ditch the Salvatores” syndrome making its way around the TVD set, because both Nina Dobrev and Zach Roerig made similar comments to E!. Do you agree with the sentiments?
