A few months ago, Ian Somerhalder (Damon) was practically begging for some hookup action for his character on The Vampire Diaries. Well, beg no more, Somerhalder! TVD execs have confirmed Damon will be getting down, and um, clean, with one lovely lady in a bubble bath scene later this season.

Ian recently dished to FanBolt all about his sudsy experience. "I was here on set all day... basically naked. I was naked in a shower scene, and then I took about a 3 and half hour bubble bath with a beautiful woman on set.... Pretty much naked,” he says. “And then munched on her a little bit and then I was brought an amazing gigantic cake by the crew, and sang to as I'm in a bubble bath with a beautiful woman. I also launched my foundation which is just the coolest thing. It really was such a memorable day.” We can imagine so. It isn’t every day Damon gets to hook up with a hottie (though, we don’t know if the same can be said for Ian).

Speaking of hotties, Ian also talked about one gorg actress on set he has (unfortunately) not been “pretty much naked” with but def wants to: Miss Nina Dobrev (Elena/Katherine). "I just want him [Damon] to make out with her [Elena] eventually." Ian paused. "I mean Stefan gets both of them [Elena and Katherine], and I think it's just time to pay the fiddler.” He adds: “I have no idea how that's ever going to happen by the way. I would just like to see him be in her good graces, for her to see that he's not such a dick... but the problem is that he is.”

You got that right, Ian. It’s definitely that whole “being a dick” thing that ultimately stands in Damon’s way. Ian even admitted that it sometimes gets rough playing such an evil character all the time. “It's tough, because there has to be truth, and there is a lot of real pain buried in that humor,” he says. But lately, we’ve all started to notice Damon sort of softening up. What’s the deal with that? “He's starting to feel things that he doesn't want to feel. He doesn't like feeling anything for anyone, because then there are stakes. And when there are stakes, you risk losing someone." Ian explained.

Adjusting to Damon’s emotional changes has also posed new challenges for Ian as an actor. "It was really counter-intuitive for me initially because I was just so used to him being a bad guy. To have these layers was difficult for me,” he explained. “I was like 'wait a minute! Damon is becoming soft' and then he tried to kill Jeremy and I was like 'Oh yeah. Never mind.'"

While we doubt Damon will ever totally stop being the show’s resident bad boy, we wonder if he can’t stop his “maniacal” urges long enough to convince Elena to give him one good makeout sesh. That’s really all we ask!
