Oh, what a tangled web we weave when we lie to our siblings about who actually killed our mother 1,000 years ago. Original problems, right? As Vampire Diaries’ Joseph Morgan (Klaus) tells The Orlando Sentinel, none of his vampire brethren — many of whom are coming out of coffins soon — are going to be pleased to hear what Klaus did all those years ago… especially Elijah (Daniel Gillies).
“Elijah is intrigued to learn the truth,” says Morgan. “There will be a showdown, plus he’s coming with idea of vengeance. It’s going to be pretty dramatic.” It’s still unclear if Elijah will side with Team Mystic Falls or if his family loyalty will tie him to the Original family. Interestingly, it’s not Elijah whom Klaus truly fears a reunion with. While Joseph won’t reveal how Rebekah (Claire Holt) comes back to life, he does say, “In a way, she’s the one he’s dreading to see the most because he loves her the most.”
It makes sense, then, that Klaus has been keeping his other siblings on lockdown for longer. “Klaus put all his family in these coffins and his two brothers — one of them I believe has been in the coffin around 500 years and the other one slightly less than that,” Morgan tells The TV Chick. The site then asked Joseph why Klaus feels so tied to Mystic Falls: “He really is a lonely guy. And I think even though the relationships he’s established in Mystic Falls are, for the most part, bad ones, they’re still relationships. They’re still something. And if he doesn’t know any different, he’ll cling on to what he’s got.”
Speaking of relationships, Katherine (Nina Dobrev) is still on the run. “As we move closer towards the finale of the season, I wonder whether he’s going to want to tie up those loose ends,” Morgan says in The TV Chick interview.
Finally, one of the biggest questions is what will happen between Klaus and Caroline (Candice Accola). “It was just a really beautiful seduction scene,” says Morgan. While Caroline clearly knows Klaus is vengeful and murderous, Morgan tells The TV Chick, “But he’s persistent and I think there’s something there, certainly.” The most difficult thing about their relationship is coming up with a ‘shipper name. When The TV Chickmentions our favorite, “Foriginal,” Morgan says, “That’s a stretch.” Aw, Joseph! Foreally?
