Bonnie (Kat Graham) used to spend her time with her nose in a grimoire or deferring to ancient witches’ demands, but she took us by surprise in the Season 3 finale of The Vampire Diaries. In order to save her friends, she made a deal with the devil, a.k.a. Klaus (Joseph Morgan). Kat Graham spoke with TV Guide at The CW Upfront and said she likes the witch’s new take-control attitude.

“I am actually very excited that she’s taking a stand for herself,” Kat said, “and it’s also interesting that that’s coming at a time where she has to struggle with quote unquote dark magic.” When we asked Wetpaint Entertainment readers if they want Bonnie to dip into the Dark Arts in Season 4, the answer was overwhelmingly “Yes.” Kat agrees it would be fun, and she’s open to being a villain — as long as it serves the story.

But Bonnie is more than just a witch. There are a lot of human relationships that need tending to, including a specific one we haven’t seen at all yet. “I just hope that they maybe explore her relationship with her father,” said Kat.

Explore it, introduce the guy, whatever works. Of course, parents have a way of turning out to be terrible people on TVD, so maybe it’s best if he stays hidden in Bonnie’s house.
