When you work on a supernatural show such as The Vampire Diaries, any day could be your character’s last. That’s why Michael Trevino told Bullett magazine that he just wants Tyler Lockwood to make it out of Season 4 alive. He’s got hybrid hopes!
“I’m hoping that it’s a great season and that Tyler can stay alive, because with any supernatural show, people are dying left and right,” says Michael. “But I think what you can see is me kind of figuring out a different layer to Tyler. He’s graduating high school. These kids are teenagers and they’re starting to become adults. All of these characters are breaking away from the supernatural side and showing more of their human sides, so I’m looking forward to that.”
With his athletic skills and padded bank account, Tyler just might be the group’s best hope for getting out of Mystic Falls and into a good college. Whether he’ll want to leave Caroline (Candice Accola) and venture off to a place less accepting of supernatural beings is a different story.
And if you’re wondering if Trevino is Team Vampire or Team Werewolf, well, he’s going with the furry beasts every time. “Because for me,” Michael says, “I feel like there’s just this inner rage within a werewolf that’s more appealing to me instead of this kind of flamboyant vampire attitude. … That appeals to me more than… pretty vampires.”
And the claws come out!
