The Vampire Diaries always leaves us guessing, especially now that two former enemies have partnered up — between the sheets. We have tons of questions that we hope will be answered in Season 4, Episode 12, “A View to a Kill.”

Shane’s hypnosis: Where does it begin and end?
His hypnosis was presumably strong enough to get Pastor Young to kill himself and 11 others, and when Bonnie (Kat Graham) was swilling the rageahol, Shane (David Alpay) was able to calm her down like that. Is this a human version of compulsion and will the witch ever be able to snap out of it? Because Shane gives us the creepy-crawlies whenever he’s alone with Bonnie.

Who sent the mysterious tongue-biting stranger?
Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin)? Elijah (Daniel Gillies)? Someone else? There’s another Amazing Race team who wants the cure as badly as Team Rebekah (Claire Holt), Team Klaus (Joseph Morgan), and the rest. Whoever they are, their strategy is pretty brutal: convince a guy to find the tombstone or commit suicide if he failed in his mission. Team ? is not to be trifled with.

Will Bex and Stefan keep it no strings attached?
They certainly have a past, and Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Bex steamed up the present in the latest TVD episode, though each promised to keep emotions out of their new arrangement. But is Stefan capable of all hanky panky and no romantic overtures? Plus, it seems like Rebekah is still carrying a torch for the former Ripper.

Does Elena’s plan succeed?
Elena (Nina Dobrev) wants Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) to kill an Original to grow his mark, preferably Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic). But the ancient vampire is probably right to be afraid of Silas. Sure, his methods are crude, but couldn’t they dagger him to end Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) compulsion? (That way, the OV is still primed for that Originals spin-off.) Then Klaus could compel a large number of vicious vamps to stand there patiently while Jeremy stakes them. Problem solved.

Is Stefan really over Elena?
There are a lot of hurt feelings in Mystic Falls right now. Damon accused his brother of enjoying locking him up, while Elena thought Stefan was upset and acting out. According to the younger Salvatore, however, he doesn’t care what Damon and Elena do and he’s no longer in love with his ex-girlfriend. Oh, and he’s making himself cozy with Rebekah. Is Stefan protesting too much, or is he actually done with the triangle?
