It’s rough losing a favorite TV character, but on The Vampire Diaries, sometimes even the dead can be resurrected. In Season 4, Episode 12, “A View to a Kill,” Original Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) burst into flames when Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) skewered him with the white oak stake.

The vampire cutie looked burnt to a crisp, but we thought the same thing about Klaus (Joseph Morgan) once upon a time. However, Zap2It reports that it’s looking pretty unlikely Kol will come back to present-day Mystic Falls. Guess he won't be raised if or when Silas returns?

Fans of the murderous Original can always hope to see him in a flashback — either on TVD or maybe in The Originals spin-off?

RIP, Kol!
