Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is apparently a love ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy when it comes to his one-night stands — unless complications arise.

In The Originals pilot — aka The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 20 — the hybrid discovered he’d knocked up Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin). The werewolf learned she’s carrying a little were-brid (we’ll have to work on a name for the Klayley baby), and some fans worried that means the two will suddenly become a nuclear family.

Joseph Morgan said in an interview with Digital Spy that isn’t necessarily the case. “I don't think there's a future in that way for those characters, but what we've done is given a complicated history to them, so already there's something between them which makes things a little more complicated,” he said.

After all, Klaus was ready to let Hayley and his child die at the hands of the witches. That doesn’t exactly spell romance. Something tells us the two will have very different philosophies when it comes to raising their child, and that could definitely lead to some friction.

And as Klaus’s phone call to Caroline (Candice Accola) shows, his heart is still very much with the blond vampire. Fatherhood is bound to change Klaus — and maybe she’ll start to see him in a new light.
