Torrey DeVitto is one busy lady. The adorable star splits her time between the sets of The Vampire Diaries, for her turn as Dr. Meredith Fell, and Pretty Little Liars, where she plays the evil-ish sister Melissa Hastings. Wetpaint Entertainment caught up Torrey at the Entertainment Weekly Comic-Con 2012 party last night, where she talked about what it’s like working on TVD with her husband Paul Wesley, who she’d like to see as a love interest for Meredith now that Alaric’s staked (hint: it’s not Stefan!), and more.

Wetpaint Entertainment: Do you know if you're coming back to The Vampire Diaries?
Torrey DeVitto: I am coming back, yes.

How does it work out schedule-wise with doing both Pretty Little Liars and Vampire Diaries? Have they ever overlapped?
One, I think, overlapped a little bit last year before Pretty Little Liars wrapped in, I think, late November, early December.  But Pretty Little Liars started up again in April, and Vampire Diaries went on hiatus in April. So starting July 10th, now the shows are at the same time. I haven't had a conflict yet, but I know I still have X amount with Pretty Little Liars, and I know I'm still doing some Vampire Diaries. It's just about time that they're going to start, I think, conflicting a little bit. So we'll see how that works out.

Might it be trickier if you're doing more on Vampire Diaries?
It would be trickier because it's in Atlanta rather than L.A., but I know that both people know each other. It's the same producing companies and stuff. So I'm sure they'll work something out.

It must be amazing to be on the same show with Paul...
Yeah. It's great. Everybody in the cast is so amazing. They have a very good energy on that set. It's a lot of fun to be on.

And now, you don't have a love interest anymore.
I know. He left. He [Matt Davis] is actually standing right there, but other than that, he left.

Who do you want to see as a love interest for Meredith? Would you want a new character or someone who's already established on that show?  I think Stefan’s taken.
Oh God. He's a little preoccupied. So I'm going to leave that one be. I think that would cause a lot of controversy in the fan world. I think they would all absolutely rip my throat out if that were ever to happen. No, I don't know. Maybe a new character then because I feel like everyone's kind of so intermingled that it might be a little incestuous if I start sticking my tongue down their throats too.
