As if you didn’t already have enough juicy scoop to parse through for tonight’s sure-to-be-epic Season 3 finale of The Vampire Diaries, Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert) has offered up a few more last-minute details!

First of all, we already know we should have some tissues at the ready for tonight’s big show. Someone’s going to die and tears will be shed, and Nina’s shared a bit more about why tonight’s finale promises to be super sad.  “Somebody has to die, if not more than one person has to die for the others to survive,” she explained to E! Online.  “At the same time, with the family, seeing all the flashbacks and how everything went down is very emotional and sad. Once someone dies, it’s sad, too.” We’re still on pins and needles to find out who. Who!?

Anyway, Nina also warns that a hankie might be necessary for those fans who may not get their way tonight when Elena makes her big decision between Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder), but Nina has “respect” for the decision and hopes viewers will at least “understand” E’s choice.

But even Nina isn’t sure the decision will stick. “I hope that Elena has a vampire-free life at some point and she can try to be normal and date a non-vampire. Maybe she leaves Mystic Falls to get away from the vampires,” she said to The Insider. “But then you have to wonder if the vampires will follow her for the rest of her life.”

Is it just us, or does it sound more and more like Elena may not pick either Salvatore tonight? Just breathe everyone! Only a few hours left to go…
