Aw, we haven’t heard the name Rose (Lauren Cohan) in awhile in the context of The Vampire Diaries. Too bad she had to be brought up under such distressing circumstances. Season 3, Episode 18, “The Murder of One” had what is arguably one of the series’ biggest twists thus far, and we’re still reeling. Haven’t watched the episode yet? Don’t go any further!

OK, so Rose turned Katherine (Nina Dobrev), who turned Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder), and the latter turned Caroline (Candice Accola). That was all a fun bit of trivia until the episode revealed that killing an Original also eliminates everyone they’ve ever made into a vampire as well. D’oh. Since every living vampire can trace their lineage back to one of the Originals, well, that’s a big problem. Those five siblings spawned a lot of bloodsuckers in their time, and one of those branches eventually leads to Rose. But which one? Whoever it is, the Mystic Falls crew is certainly going to try and keep them alive.

Sure, it could be Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic), but we haven’t seen him in ages. Elijah (Daniel Gillies) is the most even-tempered, but that could be too much to hope for. Maybe Rebekah (Claire Holt) can be controlled… Or maybe it’s everyone’s worst nightmare, and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is responsible. Let’s hope so for Tyler’s (Michael Trevino) sake…
