The time has come! The Vampire Diaries executive producer Julie Plec has finally broken her silence and now we know the exact date we’ll get to meet Joseph Morgan, better known as the infamous Klaus. And it’s coming sooner than later! (Okay, so we still have a 21-day hiatus to get through, but who’s counting?)

Mark your calendars, ladies! Plec dished we’ll finally catch a glimpse of the blonde-haired, blue-eyed Brit on April 21, during Episode 19. She told Show Tracker the much-anticipated ep will also include a surprise visit from Rose’s buddy Trevor — who, we’re sure you remember, was beheaded by Elijah — but only in the form of a flashback. Yup, TVD is going back in time again to give us some much-needed insight into everybody’s (twisted) pasts, complete with those charming costumes, natch.

And speaking of charming, Plec also divulged why newcomer Joseph Morgan was perfect for the role — and while his boyish good looks surely helped, his good English manners are also a huge part of the equation. “You always need your villains to have multiple layers and to be able to kill you with kindness as much as they can kill you with violence,” she said. “I think Joseph really represents that.”

Joseph also represents something else: the UK. Plec said casting someone from across the pond actually made perfect sense. “There's just something so charming and worldly and sexy and dangerous about an Englishman,” she gushed. And, really, we get it. Why wouldn’t an Original be English? “As we've seen with Elijah, with his accent that shall not be named... it's old world vs. new world,” she said. “The old world goes back a lot older once you cross the Atlantic.”

Can’t wait to meet him!
