The Vampire Diaries always leaves us guessing, especially now that a certain professor is no longer hiding his crazy side. We have tons of questions that we hope will be answered in Season 4, Episode 14, “Down the Rabbit Hole.”

Will there be a moment of quiet reflection?
Sorry, but this cure, and Silas, are bad news. Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) might not be the most reliable source, but he warned them that the dude is worse than evil — he’s apocalyptic. Before digging both up, will Stefan (Paul Wesley), Elena (Nina Dobrev), and Rebekah (Claire Holt) take a beat to wonder whether it’s really the best idea? To quote one of the greatest thinkers of our time, Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jurassic Park), “Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should.”

What the what with the cure?
Something isn’t jibing with the cure. Qetsiyah knew where it and Silas were buried — but her ancestors had to create the Five to find it? And why couldn’t she just force him to take it in the first place? We’re confused, and we’re not sure if it’s because someone is lying, the cure doesn’t exist, Silas really is a bedtime story invented to scare children, or what. Explain, please!

Will Klaus’s magic bubble wear off?
Even though they only have three, maybe four, days to get to Nova Scotia, find the cure, and return to Mystic Falls, the gang decided to make camp for the night. The humans were probably tired, but the clock was also ticking away. Will Klaus (Joseph Morgan) get out his magical prison before then? And if so, what of Tyler (Michael Trevino)?

Who’s the final sacrifice?
It takes one, two, three sacrifices to raise Silas, and we’ve only got the deuce. So who has to lose their lives in order to free the ancient witch from his prison?

Is Caitlin really the ghost of Shane’s wife?
Talk about a questionable source. Shane fell down into a cave and saw — and felt — an apparition of his deceased wife. Instead of chalking it up to a concussion and blood loss, Shane set about convincing Pastor Young to murder 11 people and teaching Bonnie (Kat Graham) Expression. Was that really her — or was Silas just using some mystical power to prey on Shane’s vulnerability so the professor would release him?
