In Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 9, we got to meet an entirely new Jeremy Gilbert. He was strong. He wore a wife-beater. He had a fierce desire to kill. (Did we mention he was strong?)

But as much as we love the muscles, we’re not sure how we feel about the fact that he wants to kill nearly everyone we love. Will we ever get the old Jeremy back? We’re talking about the hot, put together one... not the drugie, long-haired one.

The odds don’t look good for Jer right about now. Even though they’ve established Bonnie as his emotional detour (which we still don’t fully understand), he still has a lot of killing to do. That detour might suppress the urge of a vampire hunter who has killed two vamps, but what about one who has killed 10 or 20?

The way we see it, when this tattoo is complete, we’ve got two options: Either Bonnie finds some way to get rid of Jer’s urge to kill (or he learns to control it), or we say goodbye to the days of sibling bonding and Jeremy doing anything to save his older sis.

Is anyone else hoping that things stop right where they are? At this point, Jeremy can fight his urge to kill Elena while also looking droolworthy in a wife-beater. Perhaps the awkward teen has finally found his place.

Let’s just hope that the damage that’s about to be done isn’t irreversible... and that his arms never change.
