Dang, girl. It was one thing when Rebekah (Claire Holt) was just stealing dance themes away from Caroline (Candice Accola) and half-heartedly plotting to kill Matt (Zach Roerig) at Original balls, but her maneuver at the end of The Vampire Diaries Season 3 finale is going to cost her, big time.

TV Line spoke with executive producer Julie Plec, who thinks Bex is going to be in serious trouble for running Matt and Elena off the road. First of all, Matt will be feeling extra guilty. “I think that’s the worst tragedy of all is that they plotted together to get her out of town so she wouldn’t have to be part of this life,” says Plec. “And now as a result of having been on that bridge at that moment, Matt is basically responsible in his own way for her being the one thing she never wanted to be. He’s going to carry that very heavily. It’s going to take his some time to get past that.”

And despite the fact that he was always relatively sweet to her, don’t expect Matt to invite Rebekah to any more dances. “So even Matt, her sweet little football captain, is gonna probably have a hard time getting past that. He’s not necessarily gonna be talking to her anytime soon,” Plec told Entertainment Weekly.

But it’s Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) who’s really going to be out to get the Original sister. Plec says the little Gilbert, “who would never want this for his sister, is going to have a real, real visceral reaction against Rebekah for what [she] did. There might be a little bit of retribution.”

While it would be cool to see Jer step into Alaric’s (Matt Davis) vampire-hunting shoes, we actually want to see a showcase showdown between Rebekah and Katherine (Nina Dobrev). Now that Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is supposedly gone, she should be headed back to Mystic Falls any minute, right?
