There’s a bounty on Kol’s (Nathaniel Buzolic) head, placed there by one Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev). In The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 12, “A View to a Kill,” E’s plan to have Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) murder the OV is full steam ahead.

Since Jeremy needs his hunter’s mark to reveal itself, he has to kill an unknown number of vampires. Kol’s death will result in his entire bloodline dying off — and Jer will get the “tat credit” for those kills — so Elena thinks it’s the perfect solution.

So is Kol doomed? Well, based on some spoilers for Season 4, Episode 13, “Into the Wild,” it’s very possible.

First, someone appears to be packing an ash-dipped dagger in this week’s promo, but is Kol’s temporary death enough to break Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) compelled urge to kill Jer? The elder Salvatore is definitely walking around, free of his prison cell, in photos from “Into the Wild.”

And since Jeremy and Bonnie (Kat Graham) are trying to make sense of his mark while on a remote island — presumably free from spare vampires — that must mean his mark is filled in, right?

It’s looking bleak for the baby-faced vamp. On the other hand, with the TVD spin-off, The Originals, coming, would they really kill off a character as deliciously evil as Kol?
