Ah, the ‘40s. According to movies we’ve seen, it was full of fast-talking newspaper women and Cary Grant. What a time to be young and (sort of) alive. The Vampire Diaries will flash back to World War II-era New Orleans in Season 4, Episode 8, “We’ll Always Have Bourbon Street,” where of course Damon (Ian Somerhalder) had a love interest.

Madeline Zima plays Charlotte, and as you can see, she’s just Damon’s type. But who is, and is she human? According to the synopsis, the Salvatore brothers head back to the notorious town in the present day to look for her, so it sounds like Charlotte is hiding a set of fangs.

She might also be in possession of some intel, which can help with whatever is happening with Elena (Nina Dobrev). Let’s hope Damon didn’t scorn Charlotte 70 years ago. It seems like vampires never forget.
