If you’re still traumatized by Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) almost-death during Season 2’s decade dance, get ready to clutch your 1920s pearls, because Season 3’s dance is going to be just as bloody. (Is it too much to hope for a Klaric appearance? Yes? Okay.) When Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore) spoke with E!, he said, "These dances are so funny. They're dances and they all serve as a backdrop to murder. 'We're going to dress you up in an extravagant period costume that no high school kid would ever have and have some vicious murder!'”
Oh, great. Another vintage dress ruined! So what compels these Mystic Falls kids to put on dance after dance? "There's always this general air of naïveté going into these dances. It's like, haven't we learned? You know what happens,” says Paul. “It's like any horror film. It becomes kind of hilarious at a certain point."
Ah, yes. Silly, silly murder. What actually sounds hilarious about the episode is what executive producer Julie Plec dubbed Rebekah’s (Claire Holt) “mean girl power struggle” with Caroline (Candice Accola) in an interview with E!. The O.V. wants a ‘20s dance, while Vampire Barbie prefers a ‘70s disco inferno. Guess who wins?
