Wicka-wicka Wickery Bridge, y’all! It’s the restoration ceremony for the “Let’s make this thing less deadly to drive on” project, and everyone’s invited — including Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) old (and we mean over a hundred years) friend Sage (Cassidy Freeman). The elder Salvatore is happy to make her re-acquaintance, especially when she figures out a way to spy on the up-to-no-good Rebekah (Claire Holt). Of course, Sage has her own reasons for returning to Mystic Falls, which surprise Damon.
Newly vampirized Abby (Persia White) isn’t dealing well with her transition. Hey, not everyone takes to the blood diet as easily as Caroline (Candice Accola). Although the blonde vamp tries to help, Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) mother is struggling.
Meanwhile, Stefan (Paul Wesley) has his own issues. Elena (Nina Dobrev) tries to tap into his touchy-feely side by enlisting his help to save a friend in need.
Yet another cryptic “weapon” is discovered by Damon, who shares the intel with his bro.
