It’s barely summer, and we’re already missing The Vampire Diaries. Luckily the cast has some fun projects coming up, including Zach Roerig (Matt Donovan). When we spoke to the actor at The CW Upfront, we asked him about his summer plans.

I just got back from Israel on Monday,” said Zach. “I was there for a week. I’m gonna do a little play in L.A. at the Young Playwrights Festival. Just some more traveling, some paddle boarding.” The festival produces plays and musicals written by playwrights who are 19 and younger. The teens have the opportunity to work with accomplished directors to hone their
work, and some major Hollywood stars have appeared at the festival in years past.
Glee’s Heather Morris, Noah Wyle (ER), Alyson Hannigan (How I Met Your Mother), and Debra Messing (Smash) are amongst the famous faces who have acted in plays over the festival’s 19-year history.
According to the festival’s press release, the play Zach will appear in is called One Plus One Is Four, and it runs the last week of the festival, June 21–24. It was written by 16-year-old Rachel Kaly and directed by Warren Davis. In the play, a meteor is half an hour away from obliterating the earth, but that doesn’t mean the characters can’t look for love in the meantime.
If you’ll be in Los Angeles during its run, be sure to check out Zach, live on stage at the Stella Adler Theater. Click here for ticket info.
