Now that Vampire Diaries will be off the air until its return on January 17, you’d think that we’d have plenty of things to do, places to go and people to see — but no, not for us.

Actually, if you’re anything like us, you’re looking for shows to watch in Elena (Nina Dobrev), Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) supernatural absence. For that, we have answers.

The Thursday night primetime lineup may seem to have a gaping hole without our favorite vamps around, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t options to fill it with. There’s The X Factor season finale starting at 8/7c, and after that you could watch Project Runway All Stars, How it’s Made on SyFy, Piers Morgan, Rocket City Rednecks, Extreme Homes on HGTV or The Real Housewives of Miami on Bravo at 9/8c.

But if reality TV isn’t your game there’s always The Rachel Maddow Show or new episodes of Burn Notice to keep you warm. That, or quietly weeping in the corner until Mystic Falls and all the vampire inhabitants return. Reruns, anyone?
