Can we even begin to explain how excited we are to see Cult, the new CW show airing midseason and starring Vampire Diaries’ Matt Davis? No, we likely cannot. But while we’re familiar with Davis — we’ve know him as TVD’s Alaric Saltzman and that jerk Warner from Legally Blonde for years — we’re less familiar with his new co-star, Jessica Lucas. Let’s get to know the leading lady, shall we?

The Vancouver-born actress got her first break on a Canadian TV teen show called Edgemont. She went on to appear in The L Word, CSI, Melrose Place, and Friends With Benefits. On the big screen, she had roles in Cloverfield and, awesomely, She’s the Man.

When she went on Lopez Tonight in 2011, she cleared up rumors that she’s Pakistani and Haitian. “My mom’s white and my dad’s black, but Canadian for many generations … Someone has put online that I’m Haitian and Pakistani. It is the number one question that I get asked,” she told George Lopez. Her parents met playing softball, and she played the sport growing up as well.

In Cult, she’ll play Skye Yarrow, a PA on the set of a hit TV show. Skye will help Matt’s character Jeff investigate the disappearance of his brother and all the strange things that have been happening surrounding the series.

We can’t wait to see her tackle all the mystery on Cult!
