Spoilers below!

It’s become a bit of a thing to mock Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) decisions on The Vampire Diaries. “You know what else is her call? Everything bad ever,” Damon (Ian Somerhalder) once said about his girl. But in Season 4, Episode 11, “Catch Me If You Can,” the new vamp seems to have hit on something.

Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) acted like a bit of a diva, compelling Damon to kill Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and threatening to stake his sister. It’s no wonder Elena decided to be rid of Kol once and for all — though she probably wouldn’t mind if he took Rebekah (Claire Holt) with him.

Since they need Jeremy to grow his mark to find the cure, Elena decided that the best way to kill enough vampires would be to wipe thousands out in one blow: by doing in an Original. Kol was top of her list thanks to that nasty compulsion bit he pulled with Damon.

Because the death of an Original also kills off everyone he’s sired and everyone they’ve sired and so on, Jer would effectively murder tons of bloodsuckers if he fatally staked Kol. Right? Sometimes the witchy juju gets complicated, so we’ll see if Elena’s logic works.

Now, how they’re going to actually capture and kill Kol. That’s a whole other ballgame.

So do you think everything will go as planned?
