We all know that Ian Somerhalder has a whole foundation dedicated to doing good, but that doesn’t mean the rest of the TVD cast is slacking when it comes to contributing. Matt Davis (Alaric) and Zach Roerig (Matt) proved they’re both in tiptop shape this weekend when they participated in Tough Mudder, a race described as “Ironman meets Burning Man.” The event took place in Highland Park, Georgia, and the course was so tough, so muck-filled, so hardcore, that just finishing the run makes you an official badass.

Everyone who endured the 13 miles of mud helped raise almost $100,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project, which helps injured service members. Way to clean up the cash by getting messy, guys.
