As one of our favorite celebrity activists, Ian Somerhalder continues to use his fame and popularity to spread the word about eco-friendly living. But we’re not the only ones who have noticed the star’s significant contributions. On Saturday, September 29, the Vampire Diaries heartthrob was honored at the 2012 Environmental Media Awards for impacting the planet through the Ian Somerhalder Foundation’s clean energy initiatives.
