Juan Pablo Galavis may have already issued an apology for his homophobic comments, but it’s too little, too late for former Bachelorette Victoria Lima.
Just last week, the Bachelor star said that ABC shouldn’t cast a gay Bachelor, as one would "not be a good example for kids,” based on his opinion that gay people are "more pervert.”
While Juan Pablo has already come to the gay community and Bachelor fans with his tail between his legs, not everyone is ready to accept his apology.
Victoria, who got the ax from the show last week, tells TMZ that Juan Pablo’s “thoughtless and inconsiderate” comments are a major turn-off and that they’ve made her rethink her decision to appear on the reality show.
“If I could do it again, I probably wouldn't go on the show with him being the Bachelor," she says.
She adds that, despite his initial superficial charm, she wouldn’t even let Juan Pablo buy her a drink now, much less sleep with him, thanks to both his bigoted views and his recent demeanor on the show, which she says makes him seem like a not-so-nice guy.
As for her opinion of having a gay Bachelor in the future, she’s all for it.
"We should all have the same opportunities when it comes to finding love,” says Victora. “Why shouldn't we have a gay bachelor? This is the 21st century, people."
