The music of the '80s is having a comeback on TV thanks to shows like Grey's Anatomy and American Idol — the latter of which paid tribute to that hallowed musical era last week by having each contestant cover an '80s song.

However, as Viggle George notes in this here video, that week's theme was an odd choice, considering none of the singing aspirants were actually born in the '80s.

So to really honor that devo decade, George treats us to a lyric-al poem in this video: "Time is passing, you guys, and I'm getting older, and we are all just candles in the wind."

George, you wordsmith, you.

In the episode of Idol tonight, April 16 — airing at 8 p.m. ET on FOX — the Top 7 finalists will pick songs for their fellow competitors, so we expect the music to be much more au courant.

Also airing tonight are Arrow and Save My Bakery — on at 8 p.m. ET on The CW and Food Network, respectively — so check out the video above for George's thoughts on those. Spoiler alert: One star of those two shows is the subject of our Woman Crush Wednesday.
