The Voice’s Michelle Chamuel to Release Album, All I Want, on September 10
It’s been several months since we last saw The Voice Season 4 runner up Michelle Chamuel on TV, but that doesn’t mean the eclectic artist hasn’t been hard at work.
The Team Usher finalist took to Facebook this week to announce that her first “entirely self-produced album” will hit stores on September 10. The record, titled All I Want, will be a very different sound from anything Michelle fans have heard before.
The quirky artist is now going by the name “The Reverb Junkie,” which she calls her “solo electronic project.”
“For this album, I wrote and recorded full songs, then went back and selected my favorite parts — significant words/notes/syllables/etc. — and left only those parts,” Michelle revealed. “I got to use my voice as an instrument and play with the different sounds it can make. I wrote melodies on bass, piano, strings, synthesizer, guitar, organ, and glockenspiel. I acted like my own choir. I programmed drums to get you to nod your head where the music makes me feel like nodding my head. I kept writing and rearranging, adding and taking away, until it sounded just how I wanted it to.”
While this new approach is definitely a departure from the sounds for which we came to know the singer on the show, it certainly is an interesting concept.
Our only concern is that Voice fans might not recognize her as “The Reverb Junkie,” and since there’s no mention of the name Michelle Chamuel on the album art, it might hurt the singer’s sales.
Hopefully fans will figure it out, though, because we can’t wait to hear what Michelle’s come up with. Are you interested in her new album? Tell us below!
