‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6: Chris Daughtry Auditioned For a Role
The Walking Dead has a myriad of famous fans, many of whom would love a shot at being on the show.
In fact, one such TWD aficionado, American Idol alum Chris Daughtry, even auditioned for a crucial role on Season 6 of the hit AMC drama!
“I’ve been lobbying for The Walking Dead. I’ve been auditioning for the last season,” he tells MusicTimes.com. “You know the stringy blonde-haired dude with the half burnt face? That was the role I auditioned for.”
As TWD lovers might have guessed, the role Chris is referring to is Dwight, one of Negan’s supporters who was punished by getting part of his face burned off after disobeying the big bad.

“We hate him, so maybe it’s a good thing I didn’t get him because I’ll have a more beloved role,” the Season 5 contestant added.
Chris also noted he can never miss a TWD episode — “It’s me and my wife’s second favorite moment in bed” — so of course he has thoughts on Negan’s big debut in the Season 6 finale.
“The entire lower half of my body went numb,” he said of the villain’s terrifying intro. “You ever wake up from a bad dream and have these numbing chills? And you don’t know where you are, but you know your blanket is not on you and you need to get it back? That’s how I felt watching it — like I actually woke up from a nightmare.”

We feel you, Chris. And here’s hoping you get a good TWD part soon. If singing sensation Jesse McCartney could land a role on Fear the Walking Dead, there’s hope for Chris yet!
The Walking Dead Season 7 will premiere in the fall on AMC.
