‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Adds 4 New Series Regulars
The Walking Dead season 7 looks like it will be shifting some of its focus, as the series has just promoted four of its stars to series regulars.
Tom Payne (Jesus), Xander Berkley (Gregory), Austin Amelio (Dwight) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays the villainous leader of the Saviors, Negan, will all be in the show a lot more next season thanks to their new promotion.
They join an already enormous cast of 16 series regulars from season 6 — although one of those actors will not be back for the new episodes.
If you recall in the season 6 cliffhanger, Negan used his baseball bat to bash in the brains of one unlucky character — but the show didn't reveal which of the 11 in question met their end.
In the Walking Dead comics, it's Glenn (Steven Yeun) who is first killed by Negan, but the show won't necessarily go the same route. In fact, the series shot several different death scenes to keep the identity of the actual deceased character a secret until season 7.
Given their promotions, we'd like to say that Gregory, Jesus, Dwight, and Negan are all unlikely to die in the new season, but since this is The Walking Dead, we wouldn't be too shocked if not a single one of them makes it to season 8!
