Update (10/12/15): The Walking Dead midseason premiere is scheduled to air on February 14, 2016, which puts the Season 6 finale on April 3, 2016. Happy TWD watching!

Original Story (10/1/15): With The Walking Dead Season 6 finally debuting on October 11, we thought it would be high time to put together a TWD 2016 schedule —complete with an episode list, air dates, filming info on Season 7, and so much more.

Keep in mind many of these dates are tentative, but all of the unconfirmed intel here is based on how AMC has run things in seasons past, so it’s safe to assume they will follow a similar schedule going into 2016.

We’ll also be updating this as the year progresses, so be sure to keep checking back for new info.

October 2015
The most important event in October is, of course, the premiere of Season 6, Episode 1: “First Time Again” on October 11 at 9 p.m. ET. The season opener is 90-minutes and precedes the premiere of Talking Dead, so be sure you’re well rested leading up to premiere day.

Episode 2: TBD airs October 18.
Episode 3: TBD airs October 25

November 2015
Filming for Season 6 will likely end sometime before Thanksgiving, as it has in years past. Once the cast and crew wrap filming there will almost certainly be a party of some kind in Atlanta, after which the cast will head home for several months before descending on Georgia again next spring.

Keep your eyes peeled for some vague finale spoilers around this time as well. The set is usually very closely guarded, but you never know what could leak!

November will also feature several early episodes of Season 6 to be aired on the following dates:

Episode 4: TBD airs November 1
Episode 5: TBD airs November 8
Episode 6: TBD airs November 15
Episode 7: TBD airs November 22
Episode 8 (midseason finale): TBD airs November 29

Episode 8, which doesn’t have a title yet, is poised to be a big one. It’s the midseason finale so heightened drama is expected, and we have it on good authority several characters may not make it to the end of the hour

Not much here since the show will be on hiatus, but you can expect some brief teases for the Season 6 midseason premiere, which will likely bow in February 2016. We may get a midseason premiere date on the Talking Dead finale.

As a tease for the second half of the season, it’s likely we’ll be getting some episode titles around this time, and maybe some casting announcements as well, Negan, anyone?!

Always one step ahead, the TWD writers might also start early prep for some Season 7 scripts in the new year as well.

June 2016
Filming Continues:
By June the cast and crew are in the swing of things and hard at work on set. With the first few episodes “in the can”, as they say, Robert Kirkman, Greg Nicotero, Scott Gimple, and others may start to give vague teasers about Season 7 in various interviews. Word to the wise: Don’t expect much more than “This season is our best ever!”

Season 7 Trailer and Premiere Date: What better way to tease the upcoming season than by debuting the trailer (complete with a Season 7 premiere date) to fans? It’s also likely we’ll get a trailer and premiere date for Season 2 of Fear the Walking Dead as well.

As if all that wasn’t enough, July is usually when AMC begins sharing some on-set videos. They won’t tell us much, but we’ll take ‘em!
