Was The Walking Dead Season 4 Midseason Premiere Too Boring?

The Walking Dead’s Season 4 midseason premiere debuted on AMC just over a week ago, and although the hour spent following Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) with some of Michonne (Danai Gurira) and her heartbreaking backstory thrown in was a solid start to the season’s back half, we couldn’t help but wonder if the midseason opener was in need of some more energy.

When we asked Viggle LIVE! users and TWD fans alike if the midseason premiere of the AMC drama was too boring, many of you made it clear that you had no issues with last week’s Season 4, Episode 9: “After.” More specifically, 84 percent of those that replied to our query thought the episode was “very well done,” while only 16 percent of thought “After” was a snoozefest.

Sure, no one died, but the lower than usual energy level was also kind of a welcome reprieve from the heart-stopping midseason finale. Plus, “After” did give us a peek into Michonne’s past, which we’ve been itching to learn about for a long time.

What’s more? The February 16 episode (“Inmates”), clued us in to several other members of Team Prison including but not limited to Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Beth Greene (Emily Kinney), who left the prison together, and Bob Stookey (Larry Gilliard Jr.),Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green), and Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) who were left behind by the bus that later crashed.

And who can forget Carol Peletier’s (Melissa McBride) triumphant return and the introduction of new characters Sgt. Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz), Rosita Espinosa (Christian Serratos), and Dr. Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt)?! We certainly can’t wait to see what they bring to the group.
