‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6 Finale: Who Does Negan Kill?

If you’ve missed each and every one of our 10,000 Negan posts over the last several months, then let’s refresh: The mega-villain is a bad dude who kills people with his baseball bat named Lucille, and he’ll be making his debut in the upcoming 90-minute finale of The Walking Dead Season 6.

Based on spoiler intel, it sounds like the Saviors gather Rick Grimes, Carl Grimes, Glenn Rhee, Daryl Dixon, Michonne, Maggie Greene, Abraham Ford, Eugene Porter and Aaron for their boss, and then he uses “Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe” to help him decide which one of our people to kill.

We likely won’t know the identity of Negan’s first victim until the Season 7 premiere in October because Episode 16 ends on a cliffhanger, but that’s not going to stop us from guessing.

Take a look at our top five picks for who Negan will unfortunately kill first.

Glenn Rhee

Negan kills Glenn in the comics, so he’s the obvious choice for the big bad’s first fatality on screen.

Yes, TWD showrunner Scott Gimple loves to remix storylines from Robert Kirkman’s comics, but Glenn’s death is so iconic Scott may very well have decided to let in play out on the small screen just as it was initially written.

Let’s also not forget there’s been tons of foreshadowing and other clues indicating it’s Glenn’s turn to die.

Daryl Dixon

If Scott did go the remix route, however, Daryl is a likely Glenn substitute. There are even fan theories suggesting Pookie’s days are numbered.

Norman Reedus’s character doesn’t exist in the comics, but his death on TV would have just as profound an effect as Glenn’s passing, if not more so.

What’s more? As much as we hate to say it, Negan would actually be justified in taking Daryl out. The youngest Dixon brother has killed many of Negan’s men and has proven himself a more than worthy opponent.

The expert archer’s recent carelessness isn’t exactly inspiring a ton of confidence either.

Rick Grimes

If Negan really wanted to throw Rick’s group for a loop, he would kill the leader himself.

Killing a main character is a big deal, but the TWD Powers That Be have long said that any character can die at any time on this crazy show, so it wouldn’t be out of the question.

Lauren Cohan called Episode 16 “the biggest finale I’ve ever seen in television — in any episode of TV — maybe barring the last episode of The Sopranos,” leading many to think Rick kicks the bucket, just like Tony (probably) did in the series finale of the HBO staple.

Maggie Greene

When Negan lines Rick’s crew up in the finale he notices pregnant Maggie is having stomach pains and apparently considers putting her out of her misery. Like we said, we won’t know who Negan decides to kill just yet, but Maggie is clearly on his radar.

Killing off Mags would be an interesting remix on the Glenn storyline, and it would be doubly sad considering she’s pregnant with baby Gleggie. Don’t do it, Negan!

Carol Peletier

Carol Peletier left Alexandria and is currently out there on her own, battling The Saviors solo. She can certainly take care of herself, as we saw in Episode 15, but we haven’t seen her since (we think) she shot that Savior she didn’t manage to kill the first time, and we have no idea what state she’s in.

Like Daryl, she’s also killed her fair share of Saviors, which could be reason enough for Negan to end her life.

What’s more? Her new struggle of whether or not to kill people could lead to some poor choices. Stay strong, Carol.

We could keep speculating, but let’s save that for when we have more info after Episode 16 airs this Sunday!

The 90-minute Walking Dead Season 6 finale airs Sunday, April 3 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
