‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6 Finale: Who Helped Carol & Morgan?
Update (4/17/16): TWD EP Greg Nicotero confirmed the duo who helped Carol and Morgan are from The Kingdom, telling Entertainment Weekly, "I don’t think they look similar to the people from The Kingdom, I think they look exactly like the people from The Kingdom. Again, our world is growing and it’s very, very exciting."
He adds, "What I love about that little bit of the storyline isn’t so much introducing those people, as what Morgan has to do. Carol’s spent several seasons being the reluctant killer that she has had to be, but she’s done it because she needs to protect the people that she cares about."
Original story (4/4/16):The Walking Dead Season 6 90-minute finale was a brutal installment that ended with Negan splitting someone’s skull, but the supersized season ender wasn’t all gloom and doom.
While the majority of the group was at Negan’s mercy by the time Episode 16 was over, Carol Peletier and Morgan Jones actually stumbled upon two people who could help them and Rick Grimes’s group as a whole.
Morgan had been searching for Carol since she left Alexandria in Episode 14, and after finding her in the finale she peaced out again, only to cross paths with the one remaining Savior she was unable to kill in Episode 15.
NEWS: TWD Cast Doesn’t Know Who Negan Killed Either
Negan’s minion shot a despondent Carol a few times — she had since decided she didn’t want to live anymore — and was prepping for the kill shot when Morgan appeared on horseback and killed the enemy in defense of his pal.
This was a big move for Morgan, who had been operating under the no kill, “all life is precious” principle since his Eastman days, but it’s what happened next that was really intriguing to us.
As Morgan was helping a badly injured Carol to her feet, two armor-clad men on horseback approached and offered to help. Morgan told them he found their horse, and seemingly followed their lead once they offered assistance to the pair.

We were a bit surprised he so readily took their offer for help, but Carol was in bad shape and couldn’t afford to wait long. Let’s also not forget Morgan had seen a non-threatening armored man in Episode 15, whom he stopped Rick from shooting.
So who are these guys?
As we’ve said before, the armor indicates they hail from Ezekiel’s Kingdom, another settlement of sorts taken directly from Robert Kirkman’s comics, which is filled with people who detest Negan and The Saviors.
Occupying a former high school, the Kingdom is lead by Ezekiel, a former zookeeper who has a good friend in Shiva, his pet tiger. The residents of The Kingdom dress in protective armor — and serve as knights to the so-called “King Ezekiel.”
NEWS: RIP Alert: Who Died in the TWD Season 6 Finale?
“There's not a great chance but if it were happening, I wouldn't tell you either," TWD showrunner Scott Gimple told The Hollywood Reporter ahead of the midseason premiere when asked if Ezekiel and Shiva could be introduced this season. “The world is going to be expanding in a lot of different directions.”
While we don’t think either of those men were Ezekiel himself, it’s pretty obvious the charismatic leader isn’t far behind. Good find, Carol and Morgan!
