The Walking Dead Season 7, Episode 4: The Alexandrians Are Ready to Fight
This is NOT the Rick Grimes we’re used to.
The Walking Dead fans are not too pleased with the leader’s transformation from hero to zero.
Thankfully, some of the other Alexandrians feel the same way too.
"I'm not in charge anymore; Negan is,” he tells his crew in this sneak peek.
And if the showrunners follow the comics, Rick will continue to spiral into a deep hole of subservience with Negan, even forcing him to hold Lucille while the Saviors scavenge Alexandria.
That’s some cruel and unusual punishment, dude.
While the former sheriff looks like a scared dog under Negan’s rule, the rest of his gang is having rather different reactions to the tyrant.
Maggie — still reeling from her husband’s death — is ready to head to the Hilltop with Sasha to make a plan to take out the Saviors.
Michonne is getting her katana ready for war, and Daryl — still being held hostage by the Saviors — refuses to listen to Negan’s demands.
EP Greg Nicotero even teased that the rest of the Alexandrians don’t all agree with Rick’s decision to give up.
“I would think it's safe to say that not everybody is on board with Rick's subservience,” he told Entertainment Weekly.
Although we’re all about the rebellion against Negan, we do understand Rick’s decision to bow down, disappointing as it may be.
After seeing first hand what Negan can do, he is trying to do what’s best for his group — and preventing any more brutal murders.
Eugene, Rosita and Spencer are also joining Rick’s side and “giving them what they want.”
In a sneak peek for Episode 4, Spencer and Rosita head out to scavenge for supplies to offer the Saviors when they show up. And Eugene is busy fixing an old radio for the ruthless leader.
Unfortunately, Negan shows up with Lucille in hand before they have time to finish their offerings. And we’re pretty sure he won’t be too happy about what he finds.
What do you think about Rick’s decision to bow down to Negan? Should the Alexandrians fight for their home — or “give them what they want?”
