Can’t wait for the return of The Walking Dead?

Well, we’ve got some spoilerific details to tide you over!

Showrunner Greg Nicotero has revealed how the Season 8 premiere begins and it is everything.

If you were worried about all the Negan that overtook Season 7, fear not.

Things will be getting back to normal in Season 8.

Greg promises we won’t have to wait long either.

The very first shot of the premiere will remind viewers of the old days.

But more on that later.

It seems the entire cast and crew has been hyping up TWD’s return to its old kickass vibe.

And Greg’s description of the opening scene definitely confirms that.

This should be a welcome change to viewers who abandoned the show in Season 7.

Fans felt the season moved too slow and some people just couldn’t get over Negan’s brutality.

Greg promises Sheriff Rick Grimes will return to his rightful place as star of the show.

In the first episode, in fact.

"We start season eight with a close-up shot of Rick Grimes, and we soon feel that he is the one who dominates the plot, not Negan," he tells ComicBook.com.

Naturally, this has led fans to wonder whether or not this close-up shot was included in that epic Season 8 trailer.

Many are suspecting that shocking last image of an old and grizzled Rick at the very end of the trailer.

Could the last shot of the trailer really be the opening of the entire Season 8?

If so, that would technically make all of Season 8 a flashback!

Do you think we’ve already seen Season 8’s opening scene?

How do you feel about TWD’s reported new vibe?

Let us know in the comments!

The Walking Dead premieres Sunday, October 22 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
