The Walking Dead Season 4 details are shuffling in with more speed as we approach the October premiere. There’s a Season 4 Preview Weekend marathon starting July 4, Comic-Con coming up on July 19, and teases showing up by the day.

Here’s a new one. According to TVLine, the premiere — written by new showrunner Scott M. Gimple and directed by Greg Nicotero — is currently titled “30 Days Without an Accident.”

TVLine speculated on a few meanings, including one that the show will skip ahead at least one month after the Season 3 finale. They had previously teased that “there will be a somewhat significant time jump (hint: more than three months but less than a year)." So one month seems conservative. It’s also possible that the 30 days refers to someone keeping track of safety at the prison, which now includes a host of former Woodbury people. That’s a definite maybe.

TVLine also suggested this intriguing possibility: “The gang stumbles on a potential new home base, where the current residents are tracking the number of days since the last attack on a chalkboard.”

At this point, it’s not clear if they’d even need a new home base, although we know the group will visit more locations this season. Maybe they do visit a place with that message on a wall, like Morgan’s hometown notes. If we had to guess, we’d say someone at the prison is keeping a safety count that doesn’t last through the premiere.

But this episode title at least gives us a framework. Here’s what’s been teased so far:

Episode 1: “30 Days Without an Accident”

Episode 4: “Indifference”

Episode 6: “Rise”

For what it’s worth — ‘cause you never know where real intel will emerge from — here’s a comment from someone on TVLine’s site: "There will be a 1-1.5 year time jump between seasons 3 & 4. I know because a friend plays a new key character. Also, 402 is named “Infection.” 404 – Indifference and 406 – Rise."

We already had the Episode 4 and 6 titles, and that time jump clashes with what TVLine said about “less than a year,” but keep your eyes on the Episode 2 title. Maybe it will be “Infection.” We’ll see!
