Carol (Melissa McBride) serves Merle (Michael Rooker) a can of whoop ass in this great deleted scene from The Walking Dead Season 3, which will be released on DVD on August 27.
According to TVLine, this is from Episode 11, "I Ain't a Judas," after Daryl rejoins the prison group and brings Merle along for the ride.
Carol brings Merle some food in a cell, and eases her way into a death threat. "I should've been dead several times over," Carol says. "Ain't that the truth for us all," Merle replies. Carol continues, "I think part of the reason I'm not is because people underestimate me. [pause] Don't underestimate me." Nice! (But the bigger part is because people have repeatedly saved Carol’s butt.)
With the blurry image of Daryl in the background, Carol threatens the less hot Dixon bro. "I've seen you making the rounds, trying to play nice. But if you screw this up, mess with Daryl, I will slit your throat while you sleep." Then she tells him to enjoy his meal. Mama bear loves her man! But poor Merle is dead now and one of Carol’s last speeches to him was a threat. Then again, it's Merle, so maybe that just turned him on.
In the scene, Carol also tells Merle he’s like “family” now, and to “Caryl” shippers it’s kind of like they were brother- and sister-in-law. Considering the badass Carol has become, Merle would probably find her more than worthy of his little brother’s love.
The Walking Dead Season 4 premieres Sunday, October 13 on AMC.
