Warning: Comic book spoilers and TV show speculation ahead!

Maybe all that time in the prison guard tower resulted in more than a “you coming?” joke from Daryl Dixon. What if The Walking Dead’s Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) is pregnant?

This is just pure speculation, but it’s possible. It’s even tied into the comics, although further along in Maggie’s storyline.

Steven Yeun (Glenn Rhee) recently talked to IGN about the continued growth between Glenn and Maggie that we’ll see during Season 4, which starts October 13. “They're still both young and they're still figuring out life and what it means to be together in this type of world. Because that comes with a whole other set of worries and struggles. And also, strangely, with such great joy and hope. But it's also a double-edged sword. Because what's the point of living if you don't have someone to live for, or live with. But if you do have that person, they can become a liability to you. Because they can be used against you in this particular world.”

At first reading, we thought Glenn and Maggie might be used against each other, like they kind of were in Woodbury in Season 3. But what if it’s something involving a baby or soon-to-be-born baby? “Great joy and hope” could also be tied to a pregnancy.

Executive producer David Alpert talked to AMCTV about civilization, which could also be considered code for “family” — the Team Prison family and maybe a new Greene/Rhee family member. "What we really have here in Season 4 is we dangle the carrot that civilization can be rebuilt,” David said. “The notion that there’s civilization and the notion that there’s the possibility of there being laws and a sense of normalcy … Dangling the possibility of civilization will make people much more desperate and willing to do things that would have previously been unthinkable."

We could see Glenn and Maggie getting desperate and willing to do the unthinkable to save a baby. Maybe that’s a stretch, but it’s possible.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lauren Cohan said the addition of the people from Woodbury to the prison will bring "some semblance of community and a life," which will bring a greater sense of stability. "There's some hope beyond Maggie and Glenn being in love now. As important as that was, there's also hope that this could be OK and that [civilization] could be starting again.” She said the couple are in a "really cool place" at the start of the season.

Expecting a baby together — that could be considered a really cool place. Just saying.

Knocked up or not, Maggie and Glenn are engaged, but we may not get a big formal wedding on the prison grounds; Steven said that kind of thing may belong to an old world that doesn’t exist anymore in the zombie apocalypse. "Even within the conflicts of that engagement, it was a solidifying, purposeful move together to say, 'We're together,' " Steven told THR. "The old world is the old world and the new world is the new world, and pomp and circumstance only go so far and we'll see what that means."

Do you think we’ll also see a Maggie/Glenn baby, or are we losing our minds again? Granted, Maggie doesn't look pregnant when standing with Michonne in the Season 4 trailer, but maybe that's early in the pregnancy. Or ... maybe there is no pregnancy at all?
