One month! We’re down to one month before the October 13 premiere of The Walking Dead Season 4. Spoilers have been slowly dripping from the AMC faucet for a few months now, but here’s a handy cheat sheet with some of the new character info that’s been released so far.

A lot of these people will probably turn out to be ex-Woodbury residents who came to the prison via that bus on the Season 3 finale. Considering Hershel says “We just lost 12 of our own…” in that extended trailer, there’s a chance many will die early in the season. So don’t get too attached!

UPDATE: According to SpoilerTV, "Davi Jay will be playing the recurring role of Tony." They had no other details as of the September 28 post, but they did post a pic of him. It's possible he's filling one of the roles named above, too. What are we going to do with all of these new people?

UPDATE: Phineas and Ferb voice actor Vincent Martella has been cast as a Woodbury survivor named Patrick, who'll be friends with Carl Grimes.

Bob Stookey (Larry Gilliard, Jr.) — Bob is a character from the comics, but his story will change a bit in Season 4. He was all over the extended trailer and he’s going to be a big deal in general. So don’t expect him to die soon. On TV, Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) actually finds Bob about a week before the season’s events start, and he joins Team Prison. He has a lot of demons though, and the former Army medic is haunted by his own past. As new showrunner Scott Gimple put it to IGN, “Some major stuff goes down, which puts him in opposition to some major characters and gets him closer to other characters.” Here’s more on Bob. Can we trust him? Hmm...

Karen (Melissa Ponzio) — Karen isn’t new new. You may remember seeing the curly-haired brunette in Woodbury when she argued with Martinez, then protested against The Governor. She survived The Gov's massacre and was later found by Team Prison. She'll be joining the prison group in a bigger role this season, and based on the new behind-the-scenes sneak peek, she may be getting romantic with Tyreese. Lucky gal!

Zack (Kyle Gallner) — Who the heck is Zack? Showrunner Scott Gimple teased to IGN, "We have a character we haven't talked much about, this character Zack played by Kyle Gallner (Veronica Mars, Smallville). He has a romantic relationship with one of the characters. That's a way very quickly that you get to know him. He's not one of our major new characters, but you get to know a lot about him real quick." The actor is 26, so he may get romantic with someone relatively young. Beth? Does he get kissy with Beth … and then die? All things lead to death, so we’re just expecting the worst.

Laura and Melody (no casting information yet) — According to SpoilerTV, Episode 6 is called "Rise" and it will include two recurring roles, including “a single mother and former nurse named Laura” and “a tough and funny woman named Melody.”

Don (Danny Vinson) — Episode 6 will also reportedly include a guest-starring role for Don, a 50-70-year-old guy described as kind but sometimes grumpy; he supposedly has a granddaughter.

Jack and Erin — According to TVLine, Season 4, Episode 4 is called “Indifference” and will introduce two new survivors named Jack and Erin; both are said to be in their 20s and described as easygoing and “extremely thin.” As for their personalities, TVLine said “Jack’s a bit of a joker, while Erin walks through life with rose-colored glasses.”

Mack and Patrick — According to SpoilerTV, Episode 7 will be titled "Dead Weight" and two brothers around age 30 are coming: “Mack is an aggressive wiseass and Patrick is fair-minded. Mack is recurring and Patrick is a guest role.”

John Tyler — SpoilerTV says John is a recurring role, and the character is described as “early 30's, vulgar with rough edges but wise.”

Wayne Kesey — Another recurring role announced at the same time, Wayne is described as “Early 30's. Very smart and an experienced liar.”

Jordana Barraza — Third recurring character from the same SpoilerTV post, described as “Late 20's tough, hispanic, and beautiful. Shamed about her past.”

UPDATE: The character of Rosita Espinosa was just cast. She's from the comics, but do you think that's the same role as "Jordana Barraza" above, and they just changed the name so it wouldn't be spoilery? Do you think they did the same for comic book characters Abraham and Eugene and they are listed above as "John"and "Wayne"?

UPDATE: Actress Alanna Masterson was just cast as ... someone. Maybe one of the Chalmers sisters, if they decide to follow The Governor into that storyline. Or maybe she'll be one of the characters listed above, either by that name or a new name. It's possible a bunch of the casting call names were fakes.

What do you think of the character descriptions so far? Nervous or excited about anyone in particular?
