The Walking Dead returns for Season 4 on Sunday, October 13 but fans will only have to wait another four days for a glimpse of some new zombies.
AMC’s award-winning Walking Dead webisode series will make a grand return on October 1 with three original installments each seven to 10 minutes long.
The series, titled “The Oath” and directed by the show’s executive producer Greg Nicotero, will feature actors Wyatt Russell of Cowboys and Aliens and Ashley Bell of The Last Exorcism as they navigate an empty countryside as the only survivors of a giant walker-attack.
“The webisodes give us a unique opportunity to see other parts of the ravaged world of The Walking Dead while weaving in and out of our show,” Greg said in a release. “The crossover between ‘The Oath’ and The Walking Dead ties in one of the most iconic images from the series, and gives us insights and history to yet another timeline.”
The previous two seasons of The Walking Dead webisodes have earned high honors, winning back-to-back Writers Guild Awards, Streamy, and Webby awards.
And as if news of the “most iconic images” in the series wasn’t enough to lure us in, Greg also promises to feature all the things that Walking Dead fans crave most in the webisodes.
“There’s walkers, gore, and new threats lurking around around every turn," he teased. "All the elements that fans of The Walking Dead will love!”
