Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) has been through his fair share of heartache since the world was overrun by zombies, and nothing emotionally damaged the dad of two more than losing his wife Laurie during childbirth on The Walking Dead Season 3.

After Laurie passed, RIck officially went off the deep end, seeing her ghost everywhere and taking out all of his rage on Team Prison and other innocent survivors (yes Sasha and Tyreese, we’re talking about you).

But with the Woodbury vs. Prison massacre that ended Season 3, we’ve long been hearing that Rick will be a different man when Season 4 bows on October 13. According to TV Guide, Rick is a changed person, and his crazies are totally gone!

“Things are very different at the prison when the series returns: Rick is no longer a leader,” the site begins. “He's also no longer crazy, but that doesn't mean that he's handling his newfound position well.”

Still, all Rick has seen and done has left him with lasting emotional scars. “He'll come across a fellow survivor who has also done terrible things to survive that will make him realize that there may be no redemption.”

We’re under the impression that Rick had pretty much given up on redemption for himself, though he’s still holding out hope for Carl and Judith, but nonetheless it will be interesting to see how new Rick functions as a part of Team Prison.

Do you think he’s really a changed man, or will he soon revert back to his old Ricktator ways? Weigh in below!

The Walking Dead premieres on October 13 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
