The Walking Dead Season 4 feels like it just began, but already we're only days away from the mid-season finale. Several weeks ago Andrew Lincoln’s (Rick Grimes) tease of the mid-season ender had us overwhelmingly intrigued.
The British actor told TVLine that the December 1 installment is up there with some of the best TWD episodes ever, and given that he’s already set our expectations so high, we have to wonder exactly what we can expect when the ep airs in just about three days time.
When asked if he’s shot any scenes yet that rival Rick’s breakdown last season after Lori died, Andrew teased that the worst is yet to come. “There’s been one scene that was pretty painful to do — it’s always the mid-season finale!” he noted.
“It was all going so well for me this year, I was farming and just kicking back — I thought it was going to be a really relaxed season for me — and then they just go, ‘Bam!’”
Could the "bam" have something to do with The Governor (David Morrissey) and his massive tank? We certainly think so!
Right now the only two things Rick cares about are Carl and Judith, so if this scene in the Season 4 mid-season finale rivals Lori’s death, we’d guess that it has something to do with one or both of his kiddos. For now we’d like to assume that baby Judith is unharmed (hurting a baby just seems so cruel!) but Carl is always getting himself into trouble, especially given his new sociopathic tendencies. But it's also possible that this pain stems from another death involving Team Prison.
Do you think this “painful” scene has to do with Rick’s kids, or is it something entirely different? Tell us your thoughts and theories below!
The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET!
