When we last saw Tyreese (Chad Coleman), he was sneaking up behind some walkers after being abandoned by his other medicine-seeking brethren. We thought it was the end of the road for the heartbroken survivor after he was surrounded by walkers just minutes before his reappearance.
But is he okay? We're not sure. Was he bitten? Is his coming to the team's rescue a kind of badass swan song?
First of all, we know that Chad was promoted to series regular for Season 4, so it'd be kind of weird if he were taken out even before the mid-season finale; then again, his little sis Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) was also promoted, and things don't look too great for her, either.
Warning: The Walking Dead comic book spoilers ahead!
In the comic books, Tyreese becomes a victim of the Prison-Woodbury conflict. After being held hostage by The Governor (played by David Morrissey in the TV series) in an attempt to get to survivors inside the prison, The Governor beheads Tyreese with a katana in a fit of rage in front of other survivors.
Regardless, in the comics, Tyreese was a major character and a fan favorite. While the TV series isn't 100% faithful to the comic books, it would seem like a waste of potential to not let his small-screen counterpart shine for a little bit longer.
What do you think? Is Tyreese a goner, or will he be around for a little while longer? Sound off below!
