Our hearts literally skipped a beat during this week’s episode of The Walking Dead when we watched a sweaty, sickly Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) urge his fiancée Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) to stay away from him after he realized that he too had been infected with this deadly flu.

Glenny didn’t look good, and that’s putting it mildly. He was clearly exposed, and now he’s in quarantine away from his lady love. Lauren spoke about the engaged pair’s forced separation earlier this month, and it’s safe to say that she isn’t a fan. “It’s torture being separated from him and being sort of amputated. It’s a very intense ride,” she noted.

We’re happy that Maggie is healthy (more evidence that she could be pregnant, perhaps?) but we can’t take our minds off Glenn. We’ve already detailed his character’s gory comic book demise, and even though death by flu is the lesser of two evils, we still aren’t ready to bid Glenn farewell.

When The Hollywood Reporter asked TWD executive producer and comic book creator Robert Kirkman if we should be worried for Glenn, his answer was simultaneously totally expected and terrifying.

You should be worried about every character at all times!” he declared with a laugh.

Sure Rob. You laugh, but we cry.

Do you think The Powers That Be would really kill Glenn off, or is Robert just having some fun at our expense? Sound off below!

The Walking Dead Season 4 airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
