Richonne or Darchonne? For a woman whose favorite activities are frowning and slicing walkers with her katana, The Walking Dead’s Michonne (Danai Gurira) has a surprisingly active romantic life — at least in the speculation world.

Maybe it’s just because Danai Gurira is gorgeous and her Michonne is so confident and sexy that we’re seeing sparks with every guy around her. But … we are seeing sparks with every guy around her, including two of our faves — Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus). She isn’t with either guy (yet) but we’re already jealous.

Yes, this is the zombie apocalypse, not a soap opera, and everyone doesn’t have to hook up. It’s not even a good idea to hook up, since we saw what happened to Beth Greene’s (Emily Kinney) boyfriend Zach and Tyreese’s (Chad Coleman) girlfriend Karen. But it only makes sense for attractive people to be drawn to each other, especially when the world is ending all around you.

We were totally on board with Rick and Michonne, starting last season when they had that little bonding road trip to his old hometown. Michonne got closer to Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs), and earlier in Season 4 we even saw her cry when holding baby Judith, hinting to her own past as a mother. Instant family! Michonne and Rick have a great slow-burning chemistry and Rick/Michonne/Carl/Judith just seems right as a team.

And yet …

On Season 4 Episode 3, “Isolation,” Michonne joked about Daryl giving her fleas, and then they went out on the road together like “old times.” Old times? Apparently we’re meant to infer they used to go out searching for The Governor (David Morrissey) — who is responsible for the deaths of Andrea and Merle, among others. How much bonding did they do during the old times? Daryl is a dirty, damaged, lost soul with insane sex appeal. The same is true for Michonne. We can totally see a hookup, if not a lasting relationship.

In the comics, Michonne has a little dalliance with Tyreese, who is in a relationship with Carol (Melissa McBride). How ironic/fitting/awful would it be if, on the TV show, Carol gets in a relationship with Daryl, but he has a dalliance with Michonne? “Caryl” fans would howl, and no one wants a fan war, especially pitting strong female characters against each other.

What do you think? If Michonne takes a look around at all the handsome single men around her and decides to make a move on one, which one should it be? If poor Axel were still alive, you know he’d be the first to volunteer.

The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
